Platinum Jubilee Concerts
The band’s first public engagement after Covid was at the Old Neighbourhood pub in Chalford. We were invited to provide the entertainment to the throngs celebrating the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. It gave us the opportunity to play to a large and supportive audience with an eclectic selection of music, from marches to classics, with a plethora of solo items included. The evening was rounded off with a transcription of the bagpipe tune Diu Regnare and fanfare to accompany the lighting of the Jubilee Beacon.
This was followed a couple of days later by a lunchtime concert at the Sub Rooms in Stroud. It was somewhat more intimate than our normal Sub Rooms concerts, with the band playing on the main floor rather than on the stage: the band gave a really solid performance, and were able to engage with the audience much more
